Facelift boot badges

Just to let all facelift owners know that the boot badges, which have been unavailable for quite some time, are now available once again from Jaguar Classic Parts or your local Jag dealer. There seem to be 3 different versions depending on chassis number and only some of these are available - but unless anyone can tell me otherwise, they are all very similar if not identical.

Whilst two of the badges are as much as £16 plus VAT, at least nobody will have to pay the really silly prices I've seen on Ebay of late.

Incidentally, I have found that as long as these badges are kept clean with a sponge and water, they don't even need polishing. Using chrome polish makes no discernible difference and will inevitably lead to the chrome rubbing off.

I bought a pair from JCP about two years ago. The XJS one has lost its chrome already, and I don't polish it!

Hi Paul - you had a faulty badge. I also replaced the xjs badge a year ago and the new one deteriorated badly within a matter of months, whereas the old Jaguar badge remained as good as new (and remains so to this day). So I knew there was a quality issue with the new badge.

When I raised the matter with JCP they said they were already aware of this and had scrapped all remaining stock. They agreed to replace mine under the JCP 1 year warranty as soon as they got some more. In your case, it might be too late to do the same, but maybe worth a try next time you order some parts.

Hopefully the new badges will be up to standard.
