Work has begun- update

Hi Folks
Further to my last post.
Good progress with the suspension and brake refurb.
The back end has been re-assembled. In the end nothing else needed, just the shocks, brakes and callipers and a few seals and hoses...plus a couple of rear exhaust boxes and pipes. Radius arms were cleaned and coated and new bushes installed.
The front end has now been stripped. I elected to have them take the front cross member off. It was in reasonable condition but did have a few small rust spots that need attention. The cross member was blasted in preparation for coating. Whilst the front end is stripped, I elected to have the front brakes and callipers done as well as the shocks. The steering rack looks ok, but some joints/ bushes need replacing. There's a lot of hours involved with the cross member so it was an expensive (but worthwhile) exercise.
There was a whole bag of new bushes for the front end that will be fitted...there are a lot on these xjs's!
Next week will be the transmission replacement, and then full engine service.
I can see my bill doubling, but at least all the mechanicals will be well sorted, and it should drive a 100% better.
Will post some pics when my internet connection has returned to reasonable speed!
Cheers
Stuart
