Car Covers

Postby rainbowhardy » Tue Nov 24, 2009 11:19 pm

Dear all

Has anybody had any experience of outdoor covers, as my garage is
currently full of the usual junk I am forced to keep the car outside. Having bought two car covers from various companies with the usual, "this is a water tight cover", I am fast finding out that this is not the case. Any knowledge of these would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

Regards

Car Covers

Not terribly relevant but some time ago at work we did buy one of the plastic ones that has a small electric fan or two to keep it inflated.

The extravagant claims that the product would 'dehumidify' or 'remove moisture' from the inside turned out to be complete nonsense. We used dataloggers on the inside and out to record conditions and frequently the humidity inside was worse than outside.

It did keep some dust off, but that was about all.

Car Covers

Hello, I have found some car covers to gently chaff the corners of your car if left a long time outside, wearing the paint off. If you need to keep a car outside a car port is a better bet, but I reckon you should clear your garage of junk and keep the car there. It's what they were designed for!
