Dear All,

Thanks for your comments and concerns regarding our trip, thought we would just let you know how we got on.

We had a really great time and . . . . . . . no jag trouble whatsoever! We drove 2720 miles without a hiccup, any really enjoyed every minute. The most petrol in one day was £170, although the state of the euro did not help our cause.

Only needed one thing - a fuse for the cigarette lighter to power the sat nav!! That was only with 300 miles to go so suppose we could have read the signposts and managed but our brains were a bit fried by then.....

We did not see another XJS in all those miles which was amazing because we saw nearly every other kind including a rolls royce phantom in Monaco. The old girl attracted a lot of attention and we had lots of 'thumbs up' on our travels and also fellow brits who thought we must be slightly mad!

All in all it was a fantastic trip that we wouldnt have even contemplated in most 20 year old cars, but we knew she would love it as much as we did and she didn't disappoint, although i'm not sure she enjoyed the heat (37 degs at 6.30pm) but then again neither did we cope very well in it either!

Thanks again for your help - maybe we will give her a rest next year and fly!!

Cheers
Steve & Julie Newbury
