Hi All,

At the recommendation of another forum member here (Cheers Tel) I took the Big Cat to http://www.jagutek.co.uk/ in Ely last week and got it back today.

It went in to get the suspension aligned and I also asked them to take a look at a few other bits (such as high fuel consumption, headlight aim, suspension bushes and a general inspection). They re-packed the front wheel bearings, greased my nipples and also fitted a new set of wheels and tyres that I'd bought before because my fronts were getting a little bit on the illegal side (Sorry Tel - I used them in the end but can recommend the Falken tyres I was on before - very grippy, quiet and fairly hard-wearing but thankfully not bank-breakers).

The had the car for a few days and I got it back tonight. I'm really happy to say that it's so much better than before! Turns out that my front alignment (castor) was a good deal out and steering rack bushes knackered.

My girlfriend and I took it our for a short 'test' drive tonight to the seaside and back (140 miles!) and it averaged 27.5 mpg so that's a lot better! It was struggling to get over 22 mpg before.

I just wanted to let others know that Jagutek were a good reliable and knowledgable place. I will NEVER take my XJS to a non Jag-specialist again to get the alignment set up!
