Refitting Headlights (original European style) into an XJ-S - advice please

Postby PJAB » Fri Apr 18, 2025 3:35 pm

Hi Everyone. As usual, I am after advice please! I have had to take one of the headlights out of my car in order to dry it out and get rid of condensation. That was fairly easy and successful. Now for the tricky part - refitting the headlight.

I bought some replacement clips off eBay - they seem to have been 3D printed and seem like a good replacement for the original ones which were damaged (chipped).

My question is - what is the best technique for refitting the headlight? It seems that I need to get the three lugs on the headlight lined up with the clips - but that seems very difficult when trying to manoeuvre the headlight into place.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Peter
