D14PAX Home at last

Postby Stevepax » Fri Aug 04, 2023 11:51 am

I drove it for the first time in about 13 years today. It drives like an old car, but what a lovely old car. Engine smooth a silk even with 113k. It squeaks a bit, but perhaps that will go with time and use. Still a work in progress ( always will be I guess ) Fuel gauge stopped working today, Interior need a good clean and probably a re colour, roof panels need dying darker Black to match the rear hood, drivers door handle is playing up. Drivers window bogs down quarter inch from closing and needs help. But we are going to use it for a few weeks and shake out any more gremlins before getting all that sorted. Except the fuel gauge that will be fixed asap. Sooo happy to have it back and my Dad would be chuffed I know.

Well done. All of those issues don't sound too bad and they are things you can steadily do yourself. It's quite satisfying to potter away at these little things so long as you do it in your own time and don't put yourself under pressure. If you're not sure how to tackle anything then just come on here and ask!
