Original armrest mobile phone. What's in your arm rest?

Hello All

I have a big gaping hole in my arm rest, where once proudly sat an in car mobile phone. This has long been thrown away by a previous owner no doubt as he/she strived to have latest technology in his/her cat.

Have any of you people out there in xjs land still got your original phones in teh arm rest? If so what have you got in there. Are there any anoraks out there that could recognise the shape of teh gap and match it to a make and model. I don't want to buy a new lid for it. What i would love is a lovely original old phone to put back into this void.

There is a great company on the web, who sell retro phones. But i would like to know what phones did jag put into the cars from factory.

http://www.retrobrick.com/ There are some true classics on here.

I realise it's not going to work but i have this strange fascination of trying to keep things original.

So anyone with any info please add to this thread.

I'm afraid I can't offer any help, but cheers for the link to that website. Some excellent retro gear on there!

Here's an advert from an XJS accessories brochure dated '98

I think the exact type and model varied over the years. You often see them for sale at the Stonleigh spares days.

Pop,

The XJS may have had the same phone as an accessory for the year but that pic is of an XJ40.

Perhaps any members who've got an in-car phone from 1989-1990 could post a pic of their setup and identify the phone model.

I have still got the original phone in my armrest and it is a Sony QN-333HFK. It fitted to XJS Convertible 1993 4.00 litre.
