Hi,
I have seen a new key fob:

Does anyone know whether it's suitable for my 1994 6ltr conv? How would i get it programmed. At the moment i only have one key and one RF fob.
Many thanks
Jon

Jon,
This is a transponder type key and the remote is the sort applicable to XJ8s, S-Types & XK8s.
Although the key is the right style and could be cut, the remote isn't suitable for the XJS.
You would be better off buying a cheap blank Tibbs type key and getting it cut (or alternatively ordering a key for your car from a Jag dealer) and then finding the correct remote type for the XJS on ebay or similar. You can easily reassign the remote to your car (although you have to reassign the existing one at the same time)
Hope that helps.

Ok thanks for that. I was thinking i could just miss out the other two buttons and use the lock/unlock functions only. I must admit though i've never seen the right fob for sale anywhere!

You need a 418 mhz remote. They often turn up on ebay. Alternatively, there might even still be some new ones available.
Give Jaguar Classic Parts a ring direct (ask for Glen Parkes), or find a helpful dealer who'll ring them as it might not show up accurate availability on the system.
Good luck
