Alloy Wheel Finish

I have a spare set of Celebration wheels for my car which I want to have refurbished but I don't know what finish to choose.

Some firms offer Powder Coat and others Painted and both claims theirs is the more durable.

The original diamond cut finish seems not to be recommended by anyone.

Has anyone had theirs done and how satisfied are you?

A pal has suggested one firm but they are a long way from home and it would require 2 trips.

Michael,

I would go for the original diamond-cut finish. There are still places around that can a really good job. I know a place in Tonbridge, Kent who are very good and very well-priced.

Alternatively, you could exchange them for a refurbed set at Chilterns of Bovingdon. I know that dh dove did exactly that and was very pleased with the outcome.

Hi Paul

Chilterns do not have any Celebration wheels for exchange at the moment so it would mean two trips to deliver and collect.

I would like to find someone nearer to home.

Michael,

if you did use the place in Tonbridge, then they can sort postage etc. I saw Peter Rushen from Spain at Southern Day at the weekend and he is extremely happy with the service they provided. They charged something like £53 + vat per wheel to do a diamond cut on the outside face with painted inner faces and then overall lacquered.

They also then shipped them back to Spain for Peter. Not sure of the shipping cost. Peter is probably travelling back to Spain at present, otherwise I'm sure he'll add his comment.

Worth considering.

Also, Lepsons in Gillingham seem to get a good press:

Try typing their names into Google and you will get lots of threads on different car forums with various comments.
