I have agreed a deal now on a 1995 celebration coupe which I hope to collect as soon as the owner has put a new MOT on it and had the air/con serviced as it was not working when I viewed the car.

Now like any new owner I want to get stuck in as soon as I get it so any advise welcome.

1. The engine bay is sound but I would like to clean it up what is the least likely to cause problems steam clean / pressure wash or?????

2. I have a spare set of celebration alloys which I want to refurbish who is best to use?

3. I want to do an oil change and filter what is the best oil.

4. I want to fit parking sensors colour coded to car who to use?

Must dash I am sure there will be more when I get it.

Thank you all

Michael

I wouldn't pressure wash or steam clean the engine bay. Water will find its way into the electrical connections and provide endless hours of fun tracking down and replacing the now non-functioning bits and bobs. A chap with an XJ6 trashed his engine completely with an ill applied power washer.

Instead, gently clean easily accessible metal and plastic areas with a rag and WD40 or similar. Heavily soiled areas can be cleaned with brake cleaner (expensive) applied from a hand sprayer and agitated with a brush.

Michael,

Not wishing to worry you but if it's a 1994 car then it's not a Celebration! Was the car described as a Celebration? Drop me an email with the Vin no. or ring me on 07966 202314 and I'll confirm for you.
