Hi there
This is my first post so not sure if this is in the correct section.
I bought a 1988 3.6 a few weeks ago and plan to slowly resore its body work and interior.
Can anyone recommend a good resprayer for a complete respray? as I am going to end up with a multi-coloured car. Somewhere that guarantees their work for a set period.
Also, does anyone have experience of the waxoyl service from the company 'before 'n' after' near Rugby? Is it worth the money?
Any other advice is welcome as I am quite new to this subject at this stage.
Thanks
James

Had my car 'done' by Before-n-After in 2004. They are near Newbury not Rugby unless there are two. They advertise in the Jagworld now and again, and have a very readable website on which you can book a date for treatment. It is a one man business and seems to do a very thorough job judging by the quantity of gunge running from such unlikely places as bonnet and bootlid edges for some days afterwards. A rather eccentric experience as my car was not completed until 10.30 pm . He does two per day and lends you a Ford Fiesta to go on a scenic tour while your car is being seen to. Cheers PaulE.

James,
It is the same company. Before-n-After recently moved from Newbury to Rugby.
I've had two vehicles done by Chris Parkinson, the proprietor. I had my old Range Rover done about 5 years ago and my XJS done about 3 years ago.
Chris is somewhat of an eccentric guy - you either take to him or you don't. However, I don't think you can doubt his commitment to his job. One of my vehicles was also a late-night finish at 9.40pm. If you use him, I would suggest that you accept that the timing might go somewhat awry. It didn't particularly bother me as I just wanted a good job done but I can understand why it might frustrate some people.
I have been very happy with his work. I know a number of Land Rover owners who have also used his service - he specialises in Land Rovers but also does a lot of Jaguars.
Whether you use Before-n-After or someone else, I would suggest that you make sure that you feel comfortable that they understand your particular car. Anyone can slap a bit of Waxoyl on a car, but doing it properly is a different matter. It's a horrible messy job to do yourself - one of the few things that I feel are best left to those that want to do it and enjoy doing it!
Good luck with your decision
Paul
