The xj-s behaved well on our 800 mile tour with no problems to report. We didn't go to Harewood House as assuming Northern day is there again next year we will try to visit then.
We did stay at Nidd Hall following recommendations and although the house and setting are really nice, it was let down slightly by the quality of the food. Maybe during Northern weekend when its taken over by Jaguar Enthusiasts the guests would make for great conversation, but alas the average age last week seemed to be 85+. It was a bit like staying in an old folks home for the well off.
Ma Rivet, being a train spotter :? particularly enjoyed York Railway Museum and the Keighley & Worth Valley railway (Railway children film) while my highlights were Castle Howard and York Minster. Lovely area, highly recommended.
