got myself a new job......

for many years now i have been ' disillusioned ' with electrical installation. this was highlighted even more a few years ago when i was promoted ( several times ) until i was the contract manager for the term maintenance contract for RAF Brize Norton , working with the Royal Engineers and the RAF to keep our largest UK front-line RAF base working as well as we could, this included managing the AGL shift who ensured the airfield runway lighting and associated services ran sweet , then i was made redundant from that position after a few years, that was three years ago,
i turned back to the electrical installation that i know how to do, but it didn't do anything to enhance my job satisfaction
a few months back i got wind of a supervisors role being created at Filton airport in Bristol ( 30 miles away ) , so i went after it, two interviews and several phone calls later they finally told me on Thursday that they wanted me to start as soon as possible, so with mutual agreement i am starting there a week Monday ( the tenth ) ,
the role is primarily the management of the AGL ( airfield ground lighting ) side of the contract for this private airfield that handles thirty eight thousand flights a year , so will be a bit busy for a while, but the job is only 8am till 5pm , so not bad at all
have taken this week off work to concentrate on my loft conversion so i can get my younger son installed in there to give my elder Son with RTS two rooms to use on the first floor
wish me luck
