It's Alive!

Earlier in the year I decided to investigate the rust under the windscreen....

Then due to an accident I was unable to continue, tbh after seeing the extent of the rust I got scared. Gave the it to the garage for repairs, and a respray, and the reflectors in the bumper filled and more rust repairs.

Yay!

All tucked up for winter.

Iain,

I THINK I like the reflectorless bumpers. I keep looking at the pic trying to decide!

Iain - good to hear from you and to see your car looking well! You'd gone a bit quiet! Any more pictures of the process?

Ever since I got a facelift I have wanted to get rid of those reflectors, too square and inset into the bumper so badly/deeply. i wasn't sure it would look better without, but after seeing it in the metal I know. I am truly chuffed.

David, yeah this year has been a bit rubbish.

A couple of photos. This is the scuttle they gave me as a momento...

Note the plate spot welded over the rust (the entire panel) and the quarter inch of filler.
When buying the car a selling point was that it had "had the scuttle rust sorted" hmmmm!
