Blimey this thread's got a bit mucky. Come on chaps, this isn't Have Your Say on the BBCs website.

I recall many years ago when I was a member of another (and not so illustrious) club, that one month the mag editor deliberately left a page blank and noted in the intro that the magazine was wholly dependent on members contributions and these were drying up. Can't recall if this supposedly shock tactic worked for future editions, and I don't think this is necessary for our magazine, but perhaps a reminder wouldn't go amiss on the forum pages.

I find our pages of interest (being an XJS obsessive like most / all of you) but as stated a number of times its down to the editor what appears and if the copy offered is limited then the choice of what to publish will be. Having said that, it is concerning if members are putting forward content which may be being overlooked...hardly encouraging if thats true.

Things could be worse, we could be on the XK8 forum and only talk about our different grilles and wheels...only joking.

With the greatest of respect to all...ahem.

Hi and i very warm welcome to our forum heyro 1 sorry but i find your comments in very bad taste i have been a member of the Jec since it started my membership number being 502 over the last 15 years i have worked very hard on my car to get it to the condition it is now in and i feel that after all the effort over the years i am entiltled to some publicity as regards your comments towards mr Bleasdale i find them uncalled for he as spent the last 20 years dedicated to the jaguar XJ-SC and as spent endless hours of his time and money to help members world wide find details of there cars What is your problem if your not happy about the content in the magazine then why dont you do some thing about it and submit something to Nigel you refere to Bleasie being banned from another Forum yes true but only because of the way he worded his thoughts just to try and help some one wasting a lot of cash on an absolute rot box xjs If you own a Jaguar then why not write an artical about it my interest is in all classic cars The ball is in your court Regards Bryan Thomas JEC 502 XJ-SC 3.6 Mittsibishi VR4 2.5 ralliart estate

Sounds like you are trying to pull rank here Mr Thomas,"small things for small minds" which is a quote from your mentor about me.
I will not renew my JEC memership when it is due, if the XJS magazine forum is full of the same thing over and over again.I thing the register of xjs cabs etc is a good thing but its a crying shame of the person who runs it.
remember the army motto."one up one down and one to polish"!
Now get polishing.

Could I please make a plea to end all of this unpleasantness? It is incredibly sad to see fellow enthusiasts being knocked like this, especially when they are so obviously passionate about the XJS, in one way or another. Yes, maybe there could be greater variety in the Magazine XJS Forum pages, but such insults are totally uncalled for.

Personally I don’t expect too much from a magazine that has to cover so many different models and aspects of ownership. If the magazine publishes an article that appeals to my specific interests I regard that as a bonus and I am generally content to read about other aspects of Jaguar ownership, even though they are not my particular interests. I for one appreciate what the Club does and what it provides, including this Forum, which was always designed to cater for our more specialist needs.

,"small things for small minds" which is a quote from your mentor about me.

Well who ever you are as I don't know you, {yet another that's afraid to show his identity}
Not sure how I can have made the above comment .

I had know idea that it was us, who were responsible for the writing and content of the jec mag?
Is it all purely from input from members?

Come on MRB39 how can you say that most months the Editor ask for articles from Members.
12 aricles a year is bad enough let alone a full Magazine

Check you email"sent" box to see who you insulted.

Heyro! :D Afraid I'm not quite sure what your getting at with your posts, but feel free to give me another clue.
Maybe i am a bit slow on the up take.

I suppose i could pen an article about draining and refilling the gear box on a manual, but i don't think that would keep many people amused or entertained for long.

To be honest, as a novice /amateur spanner jockey, i think it might be a bad idea me suggesting to others how to do things.
Could definitely be a case of the blind leading the blind.

I just looked at my new mag and as usual the XJS forum has that bleasdale chappie in it again going on about B Thomas again and again and again.
Come On JEC ,this part of the magazine is now getting very boring.
I feel these two characters are up their own exhausts.

Rant over.
Read my first post again.
It means try and do an article without the same boring stuff repeated over and over again.
And Yes I am the
"small minded trandsformer guy" that you talk about and call me in your emails.

I havn't come here to annoy..I just posted my thoughts on the article in the magazine.

I would have hoped that mr bleasdale would have thanked me as I have removed the "dartboard" and another posts about Mr bleasdale that he found offensive in his absense on the other forum.(although I feel I may be introuble for doing so as the other mods didn't agree they should have been moved.)I think they said that the posts were just 'innocuous'.

I deleted those posts myself and with no orders from above.
So still could be in trouble.
Also it did prevent any replies being made that might have inflamed the situation!

I do hope that's it.

Whilst you guys may find your little spat entertaining the rest of us are sucking in our breath and praying for the end.
