I bit the bullet and signed-up for the Tracksport event held last Tuesday at Castle Combe. Great fun (except when the brake pedal hit the floor!) but we are all good: no harm or damage done.

Great to catch-up with folks whom I've not seen for a while.

Cheers, Richard

Well done Richard - that looked like fun.
Could you do a write up for the magazine?

Hi Richard - great video, I really enjoyed seeing the Big Cat being put through its paces. It's odd to hear the V12 engine sounds, but without the autobox gear changes. It sort of sounds like a straight 6 manual, but even more so.

Is that the same Getrag gearbox that's in the 6-cylinder cars?

I was thinking, it wouldn't do any harm to put links to YouTube videos in the magazine articles so people can back their reading up with some online content. Using URL shorteners (like tinyurl.com) makes it easy if people are typing the link from the paper magazine, but obviously the electronic version can just link directly from the PDF.

Morning,

Yes - it's a Getrag 265 from a donor 1989 3.6 XJ-S that had failed it's MoT back in 2013. Rear diff ratio is 3.07 compared with the 2.88 standard: it better matches the gearbox. Good shout re: TinyURL. I'll grab a few stills from the footage as well.
