Buzzing sound

Evening all, I've noticed a buzzing sound (electric(onic) before anyone mentions bees/wasps etc ha ha!
I noticed it when muting my radio to make a call.

It seems to be coming from around the steering wheel general area. Anyone else had this problem/annoyance?
Car is an 08 2.2D auto

Sorry to be so late in getting to this!

Almost certainly the noise you report is coming from behind the little 1 inch square grill just to the side of the steering column. In there is a small fan unit that takes in cabin air and measures its temperature to inform the climate control system.

The grill can be pulled out and any fluff extracted from the unit to see if that helps. Be careful not to damage the sensor itself

Many thanks! gave it a blast with some canned air, and although still present It's not as loud. Will try a small amout of WD next in case of dy fan fan bearing.
