Radio comes on when door opened

I’ve bought and fitted a radio and wiring harness from Halfords. The radio works excellently and when I turn the ignition off the radio turns off as expected. The problem is that once I open the drivers door the radio comes back on. It’s got me baffled !!!!

That's neat!
Does it switch off again when you close and lock the door?
Maybe it is a deliberate function; have you read the manual yet?

Is it something to do with the interior light circuit? There may be a wire for illumination in the stereo so that it comes on at the same time as the dashboard and is controlled by the dimmer. If the dash lights come on your car when the doors are opened and that wire has been fed to the power on the stereo by mistake that may explain it? Just clutching at straws!!

David's suggestion sounds sensible. I'm guessing you used some form of ISO adapter plug to mate to the Jaguar-specific original plug? It seems that the live feed to the radio is somehow not coming from an ignition-controlled circuit.
