Ref, 1996 X-300 3.2 litre Sport.
The rear view mirror has become detached from the windshield inner glass surface, but the screen component is still in place. I cannot figure out how to replace the mirror spindle back on to the stub carrier on the windshield, and indeed if there is a component missing from the assembly as a consequence of the detachment . What ever I do, it will not snick back into position, but is loose and insecure. Any advice welcome. Thanks, Vince

Re: X-300 rear view mirror
Hi Vince
With my '95 X300, To remove the broken mirror I had to twist it anti-clockwise then pull it away from the screen. Reverse to re-mount, pushing firmly but not too hard. However, be careful with those instructions because I know of three different types of mirror on these cars, and I have no idea of how the other two types are mounted or if they're the same as mine.
