XJ40 seats in Mk2

I know this conversion has been done by a number of people and (at least) the front seats conversion is a regular thing for people like Beecham, but has anyone here done it and if so can you give advice and pictures of what is needed please?
Will I need to cut anything off my original front seat frames to fit the XJ40 fronts?
How much work is needed on the rear seats? I know they need to be narrowed (how much?) and there is some work to do to the metal spring/frame.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
John

Hi,
I have reuter seats re-upholstered and found them uncomfortable, I later drove a 3.4 with fixed seats and these were nice and comfortable.
I replaced my front seats with grey leather seats from a Daimler XJ40, I left the original taper supports and cut down angle iron to bolt on and widen the track to bolt the XJ40 seasts to. I also ran a power supply to the seat and mounted the switches below the seat.
The rear seat is in the loft as I couldn't work out how to fit it (the original rear seat was also expensively re-upholstered so stayed in).
I'll add photo's later when I find and resize them.
Best wishes
Brian

Thanks Brian that will be helpful. I figured the fronts should be fairly straightforward. Did you have to alter the mounting height for the seats or just adapt the fixing points?
Unless I can get info from someone that had done the rear seat conversion already I am thinking I'll have to place the Mk2 and XJ40 rears side by side and try to work out what needs changing.

Hi,
I've found 3 photo's I took for someone who emailed me from South Africa, I sent them and a quick write up, he didn't have the decency to reply!
Eitherway, probably not the neatest conversion but it has served us for 10 years or so, the XJ40 seats are a little narrower than the MkII so it makes it easier to fit in intertia seat belt reels at the bottom of the B/C post (I recessed mine to take them but later found it was unnecessary with these seats).

I fitted Daimler XJ40 seat in my 240 some years ago. I made some heavy duty mounting plates to allow the front seats to mount on the original points.
The rear seat was quite easy. The Daimler has individual seats separated by an armrest and storage box. These are all bolted together so the centre armrest section can be remove. I then made up a narrow filler section which I covered and the effect is quite good. Using a Daimler seat saves having to reupholster a bench seat
