Removing glovebox mk 2

Postby lornemalvo » Tue Feb 04, 2020 9:45 pm

Can anyone please advise how to remove the glovebox from my 1965 mk 2? The dashboard top is off, as is the panel underneath. I can see the two securing nuts on the right hand side, but can't see how it's secured on the left hand side. I would appreciate any advice.

Timely post as I need to replace the screenwasher tube from the bottle into the car.
Hopefully I can access the washer nozzle and tee piece from behind the glove box.

Hello Peter,

in order to access the left hand attachment bracket, you need to remove the small piece of glovebox lining, it's glued in, but not firmly. You will then find there is a round access hole in the glove box lining . It is quite fiddly to get a spanner in there to undo the two nuts.

Thanks Alec.
I’ll bear that in mind.
I’ve had all of the dashboard out in the past for refurbishment but as that was probably twenty five years ago I now don’t have the foggiest idea how I did it. The penalty of getting old ....
