so , the concept, modify a genuine convertible parcel shelf section to fit in a coupe , why , well, the later ones were covered in coloured ambla/leather rather than that fuzzy black material , that , and why not ?
below you can see the coupe version , and a genuine Jaguar facelift convertible one in Mulberry , my favourite colour.....

placing the black one over the mulberry i could see i could cut out the board so it would fit the coupe ,
so i took out the tacks holding the mulberry covering and folded back to allow me to modify it , and skinned the back one to allow me to use the back board as a pattern
as it turned out the existing one was ' cardboard and the new one was 1/4 ply , and much sturdier and straight
then i traced the cardboard pattern onto the ply and cut it out to fit, including the seatbelt mounting holes

i then folded back the mulberry covering and with my staple gun and some scissors re-trimmed it back to factory looking

the back upstaged section is different between the cars , so i used the original metal frame with holes in it and covered it in the leftover mulberry material from the alteration ,

they is then all fitted back into the car for an invisible upgrade that few if any will notice unless asking....
i also covered the handbrake cover in mulberry material , the inertia switch cover in the drivers footwell, and the armrest catch between the ski-slope and the armrest
