Let's hope more turn up than at Southern day last year.............
Well, there were four of us anyway.
Also conflicts with Silverstone GP and Cadwell Park XJS racing, I'm afraid that I shall be at Cadwell, God Willing.
I hope the weather is kind to us all whichever event we attend. :D

As the JEC starts to establish further the concept of Forum for different models, we are trying to use the major events such as Southern & Northern Day as opportunities to enable owners of particular models to park together. Naturally, some members will wish to park with colleagues or their regions etc. However, for some members, parking with owners of the same model is of more relevance and interest. We're not quite sure of the logistics yet - I'll post something here when we have more info.

DH - I've taken the sticky off the Xmas booze trip - good spot. We won't remove the post completely as it has responses plus attendees pictures etc. It will just take it's natural position re. last post.

Considering that Sue had the field location changed on her by the site owners at almost the last minute, it was pretty good.

We arrived at 10:45 to find almost no queue and pretty much drove straight on. There was no marshaller visible anywhere so we parked where we felt inclined. One short sharp shower at about 11:15 didn't really affect things and the slightly smaller area actually made it feel quite "clubby".

Tony Ridge assured me afterwards that there were well over a 1000 cars although neither Nigel T or Sue Hedley knew if anyone was officially counting when I spoke during the morning.

There were some absolutely stunning cars - huge numbers of Series XJs including at least a dozen Daimler Coupes - but also aluminium bodied XJs!

A good day I'd say.

I'm glad those who went had a good time.

I started the post hoping to get there but then by employer changed my shift paterns to 4 on/4 off so I eneded working that day!!!!!!!!

The only car rally I've managed this year was today at a place about 60 mile up the road called Newby Hall. (Yorkshire)
Its was a mixed field of all sorts of classic cars and bikes just a shamed it rained yet again!

I think next year I might have to consider booking a holiday off for Harewood just to make sure I can get there. 8)
