Yeah - I'm really looking forward to Sunday. Cat and I are off to my grandparents' house near Fordingbridge tomorrow evening so we're ready and organised for Sunday. We thought that Cambridge ->Marlborough->Cambridge and work on Monday was a bit much!

We fitted a new camshaft cover gasket to FIB 9795 this evening to cure an oil leak that was picked up during the last MoT so hopefully that's one less thing to do.

btw , the XJS is coming on great guns... i have some pictures, but am being lazy about posting them, i will if you all insist , ( in their own thread )

Oh - go on, get them uploaded, we're all ready to admire!!

OK Mr T
I am off the hook with my daughter so I will be joining our merry band of XJS nuts.

Is it good news on your car or will you be hiding in the Merc

Mike, that's great, good to have you aboard. Have you persuaded Tracy to come?

re my car - it was flooded.
I tried it when I got home and it wanted to fire but by then battery was a bit flat. Charged the battery for a couple of hours and after a bit of a struggle away she went - thankfully! Been fine ever since.

This has happened to me before. It seems occasionally that if the car doesn't catch straight away (as normal), it goes into "I'm being awkward" mode and must be left to sulk for a while.........

Ho-Hum

See you Sunday

Hello all

Regarding visit to the Richard Atwell museum it appears that the founder Richard Atwell has sadly died according to local press release link below.

http://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/news/ ... nder_dies/

Have not checked yet to see if museum is still open on Sunday but we will still be there.

See you all Sunday.

Best Regards Mark.

Mark (et al)

Thanks for posting that, I hadn't heard.

Libby and I met Richard Atwell a couple of months ago when we went over to discuss details of our visit. He was very poorly and taking chemotherapy but he was still very keen on our visit and we had a really interesting chat.

I have (just) spoken to the Museum and they are expecting us as arranged on Sunday afternoon at 1.30-2.00pm.

See you all on Sunday.

Regards

Tony - have just noticed my nom-de-plume in your list of attendees so thought I had better post that I did get as far as looking at hotels and the logistics, but did not go ahead with a booking, so shall not be joining you on Sun. Sad as Wiltshire is one of my favourite counties and I would have enjoyed a return visit to Avebury to catch up on the latest on crop circles. Has anybody seen one appearing yet? With all the close attention I am amazed that the phenomenon has not been rumbled . They look far too complicated and well produced to be the work of two old codgers working with string and a board, in the dark too.

Have a good w/end. The forecast is favourable. Paul.

Hi Tony,
Just a quick note to say how much Sue, Joe, and I enjoyed today's event. Avebury was fascinating, the Red Lion Pub good (and warm), and the Motor museum at Calne later on a rare treat.

Well done; looking forward to the next event....

Hi Tony, Helene and I would like to thank you for organising a grand day out, giving us the opportunity to meet some really nice jag folk, especially Mark , Steph, Vince & Mike, who all gave us some valuable advice and hints on how to really enjoy our Jaguar.
Thanks again. :D

Hello all

Just quick note we had a very enjoyable day the stone circle at Avebury was good (apart from the amount of discarded cigarette lighters about the place Tony.....) found the museum had a great feeling to it like Tony said the type of museum you would end up with if you did it yourself, great.

Really enjoyed everyones company and look forward to another one.

The 600.2 miles trip door to door was great the xjs enjoyed its 26.2 gallons very much and now needs some more.

Best Regards Mark & Steph.

ps Christopher and Helene What about the guy at the golf club in the +4's superb attire.

Up north for the next one sounds like a good idea- stretch the old gals legs and give those who live outside "Gods hallowed acre" a chance!
