just a quick update

i will be at the AV8 by 0900 , and aim to leave there by 10.15 at the very latest

the trip to H A Fox should take no more than 40 mins , the post code for it is GL51 9TU

there should be a dedicated parking place set aside for about eight cars , look for the empty spaces............

places have now been taken up , so please don't just turn up if not already notified as doing so , as space is limited

i WILL be leaving by 12.30 , i have tickets for a rugby match i need to attend, lol
H A Fox expect us to be wrapped up by 1300 at the latest,

anyone wishing for a ' test drive ' will need their driving license, and availability is limited so first come first served , if cars are available, this is between H A Fox and individuals and not organised by the group in any way.

see you there

Vince

Had a great time today, thanks! Great run up there, and a very interesting workshop visit. Shame I couldn't work the coffee machine......
Sorry, I didn't take any pics but I'm sure others will chime in.
Dealership seem keen to build on this event in the future as discussed which should benefit both them and members alike.
One thing I learnt, if you're going to buy an F Type convertible ensure your golf club drivers have carbon shafts so you can bend them like bananas to get them in the boot.........OOOOPS

Hi BB,
What a pleasant day, it all started with a good "thrash" to Kemble, I think Mr Slow stayed in bed this morning cos the roads were quite clear. Brekkie of course with the assembled brethren and then a "gentle trundle" on to H.A. Fox in Cheltenham. This was a worthwhile visit to talk to friendly helpful staff in the workshop. Very interesting conversation about subsidized costs for classic cars - need to explore this further. See what you missed by not coming !

On the way home I got snarled up in the Cheltenham traffic - cor Bennet - it was horrendous, grid lock. Never mind once clear of the city another good run along the A40 heading east. It was worth the drive today just to see the beautiful colour of the trees at this time of the year especially with the afternoon sun shining.

Well done BB must do it again

Oldtimer

PS Still can't work out what that old bean can thing attached to the diff was !!!!

Well done BB. Good brekkie and good company. Enjoyed the dealer trip. Have now worked out that I fit in an F Type just fine but golf clubs are a challenge and my golf bats will be just fine in an XE but I don't fit!!
Not convinced by the offset pedals on the manual XE either - looks like a recipe for a bad back to me.
Interesting to see the various cars in the workshop. One 4.2 XK with its engine on the deck and an apparent head failure and a diesel XF whose owner and put petrol in it and then run it until it stopped and needed a completely new fuel system at eye-watering expense!
Lovely trip on the way back - top down along the Fosse Way - almost certainly the last top-down trip of the year. Priority now is cleaning, polishing and fettling the Celebration for the NEC later this month.
Good to see you all and hope to see you at the classic car show.

I will be there ( not in the XJS ) as normal around 9.30 ,

thanks to the John and Angela along with Iain for turning up today , i thought i was going to be on my own today after sitting there for half an hour  , they came from the Thames valley region and the Wiltshire regions along with myself from the Three counties region ,

unfortunately , only the one Jaguar in the car park though , but what a nice one it was , John and Angela's lovely 5ltr XK convertible that was formally owned by our own Mike Horlor , i was only able to drive my company car, and Iain wasn't willing to get his XJS wet after all the recent work carried out on it ( and i don't blame him 8) )

Right

after the Christmas sabbatical from meeting up , we are now on for the January meeting on Saturday the 30th at the Cotswold airport ( kemble ) for around 9am to 10am arrival

totally informal , you don't even need your jag, but it is always nice to see them out and about, as this is what this meeting is all about, getting out there and driving them ,

i may or may not bring along my own XJS , we shall see ( i was supposed to be working that day, but i told em to stuff it , lol  )

it would be nice to see some other new members turning up , so spread the news of our meeting ,

please add your names below if you intend to turn up , so we can keep an eye open for you

it will be good to get things going again for 2016 , and we can chat about some ' outings ' so get your thinking caps on , and bring your ideas to the meeting
