Dear Mr Breakfast Buster
Been a JEC member for a few years, the levels of activity on the XJS Forum. (amazing)
Whilst I don't have an XJS I take my hat off for what you do in promoting informal meets of jaguar lovers.
Would love to join and meet you and all in your breakfast meet at the end of the month?

Good to see everyone today and welcome to Winston on his first time - hope you got some good advice and our tales of woe haven't put you off!
It was a nice day at Kemble today - the sun was shining and the bacon was sizzling in AV8 - perfect!!
However, the day wasn't without its mishaps as BB's car dumped its coolant on the way and my car dumped its diff oil on the way home! More workshop time for both of us I fear but at least we can write it up for this forum!
See you next month if I can manage to replace the pinion seal on my V12.
Regards
David

BB Sorry I did not make it today, good customers S Type R dumped his coolant last night so was compelled to assist today (in the rain).
Hear you have also been dumping the wet stuff!

good get together yesterday , even if a few had mishaps in one way or another

my recent work on new coolant pipes popped out one of the new seals, so i ordered some more yesterday and will have to take it to bits again , lol, the joys of classic car driving ,

Sorry to hear the pinion seal has gone on the diff David, but these are easily replaced in situe , just drop off the prop shaft , mark the position of the flange nut onto the stud, undo and pull the seal, tap home the new seal and then tighten the nut back to the marks you made , i did this to Phils a few years ago, and so far it has not given him any more trouble

Tony , sorry you couldn't make it, maybe next time ?

Winston , good to see you and your partner, the car is a great starting point to own a very desirable classic at the moment, don't forget to ask on here for any advise etc on how to to get her in fine fettle. between us we are also a good source of spares should you need them

catch you all on February 27th

BB

ps, Winston , what was your VIN , so we can see how late a car she is

I will be attending the breakfast meet on Saturday, not with my car as I have just sold her this
week. Can't believe that I owned the car for nearly 9 years, loved it. As a result I now have quiet a few spares for sale. Genuine Jaguar rear screen rubber £45.00, still in wrapper, workshop manuals Volume 1,2,3, and 4, Jaguar in very good condition - £100.00. Can bring along to breakfast meet if any one is interested.

Now on the look for an XK8

I've done the tyres and twanged the wires so the intent is there.

I have back trouble, can't get it off the bed in the mornings.

Hopefully see you all at breakfast
