Hi everyone.

Hi Everyone,
Bought Thomas 2001. Dream come true. Followed the most important mods as per the sainted Kirby Palm. Was my daily driver until 2005 when job change meant he had to go into storage some distance from home. lack of time, money etc. meant he was sor'd. Couldn't bear to look at him as I felt really guilty about neglect. I had a heart attack Christmas 2014. Been kicking the tyres recently and looks like I've been really lucky 'the beast awakes.....' A bit asthmatic, some electric problems, some cosmetic challenges but 90% OK.... I think. Would love to get him back on the road. Life is very short. Main problems:
Asthma - ordered new parts to make new injection harness, will clean injectors when doing renewal.
Electric - instruments don't work, dismantled, cleaned, new grounds still not getting anywhere this may become a post. then the usual damp disuse problems.
Cosmetic - where do I start.....all the usuals veneers, seats, hood, carpets ....

Anyway see you around and thanks for a great resource. AK

Hi BB,

Thanks for the welcome, seen you around a lot in posts, I take my hat off to you and applaud.

It went into storage pre me having a digital camera (sounds like the dark ages). I'll take some photo's tomorrow weather permitting etc. it won't be a pretty sight.

Cheers, Alan.

Alan,

Welcome to the XJS section of the Bulletin Board! And thanks for updating your membership record with the car details.

Great to hear that you're going to try and refurbish the car. Keep us all updated with progress. It will help with your motivation as well, I'm sure. And there's plenty of us to ask here when you get stuck.

Good luck

Paul

Thanks for the welcome Paul. Just trying to figure out how/where to tell the ongoing story, my posts can't all be in arrivals

Looks like a good start to me - best of luck with it, and please keep us up to date with progress.

You have Ripley Castle next year to aim at as a target for completion and an airing which we can all celebrate. Will bring a bottle of Proseco.

Thanks for that Paul E, no pressure then, and have you seen the price of things  . I'll only be able to bring the water from the windscreen washers....
