New Owner in Suffolk - 1994 Coupe Auto - Insignia

Postby Cristatus » Wed Jan 07, 2015 7:59 pm

Hello everyone I am a first time XJS owner, I have uploaded the details so hopefully you can all easily access them. I am based between Bury St Edmunds and Diss.

The car had one owner from registration in Jan 1994 through to early 2014 and spent all its life in and around Yorkshire. The second owner only owned the car for about 9 months, when I bought from him earlier this week he said he missed the noise of his V8 Mustang and wanted to go back to an American V8, his loss is my gain.

The car has full history in terms of documents, MOTs and service details with most at Jaguar. With mileage at only 35k and only 4k in the last 10 years there are some years without oil change records. The condition of the body work, engine bay and boot are outstanding for a car of this age.

The car is an insignia model but only has the exterior special paint and wheel option the interior higher spec leather was not chosen, the car is finished in Metallic Peppermint with Magnolia Leather. I managed to contact the original owner and he has confirmed that the car was mostly driven by his wife and had never suffered any damage and had been garaged throughout its life with him.

I note there is a JEC event near me at Bury St Edmunds in May but I will be away and unable to attend.

Cristatus,

Welcome to the club and to the XJS Section of the Bulletin Board! It was good to talk to you last night and I look forward to seeing the car some time.

Thanks also for updating your membership record with your car details. I have taken the liberty of slightly amending your engine number where there was a minor typo.

Keep us all updated with news on your rare car!

Regards

Paul

I have a similar model with a similar background use, but I got mine in 2003 with 38000 from new. I have since had another 40000 miles of delightful driving and I agree with you , who needs noise?
Welcome to the Club and XJS bulletin board. Hope the car brings you much pleasure. You will have found out that it is no road burner but its way of travel is a therapy.
