Rust proofing

I must have lost my mind as I am now the proud, but slightly worried, owner of a 1990 XJS V12 convertible. To protect it against the evils of weather I plan to have it rust proofed by our local Dinitrol agent. Does anyone have any special recommendations as to where and how it should be treated. I understand that some holes may need to be drilled to gain access to interior section.

Black Dog,
Good on you for buying an XJS Convertible. Their is nothing like it in the summer and also some days in the winter, to have the hood down.
Have the car looked at by an expert before you spend any money having it "Dinitroled".
Then find the best person in your district, by asking around, to have it done. Lastly make sure all of the entry holes are closed off and sealed after the job is finished.

Regards, Brian Harris

Marc,

I second Brian's view on buying a convertible!

You haven't said where you live. You may find it better to update your location in your profile which can help other members to best reply to your query.

Also, do please remember to update your membership record with your vehicle details.

Good luck with the car.

Thank for your suggestions, I am near Glasgow. As far as I know there is only one Dinitrol agent in the area. I have had it up on a lift and as far as I can tell there is no significant rust. I intend to keep it that way!
