New XJS Owner

Hi all
I have just purchased a 1996 XJS V12. I have owned an 1994 XJ12 for a year now and one isn't really enough
I pick the car up on the 22nd Aug and will get some photos on here as soon as I can.

Hello Simon and welcome to the Forum. As I'm sure you know, a 1996 V12 is a very rare thing as Jaguar were only making V12's to order at that point. For example, there were only about 50 V12 Coupes produced in 1995. I can't find the figure for 1996 but as production ceased in April the figure is likely to be very small.
There's a lot of knowledge on the forum here and people are very kind in sharing their experiences - it's certainly helped me alot over the years!
I hope you enjoy your car and look forward to seeing some photos.

Congrats on the purchase of the car!
Í'm sure it won't affect your decision to purchase this desirable car, but just to to let you know the car will have been built before 1996. If you email me the VIN, I'll tell you when it was made.

From the JH site and chassis number it would appear the car was built in 1995/01(Jan?), but it was registered on 1/08/96. So where was it between those dates?

It would appear that the car was built in 1994, judging by its chassis number and specification. It was built after May 1994 as the AJ16 engine was introduced to the XJS and the V12 became special order only at that date.
So my car was probably ordered and the customer then decided not to go ahead with the purchase and either the car was kept unregistered at a Jaguar Dealership or at the factory. When it was finally sold its registration was probably delayed so it would get the new P plate!
All I need to do is find out where the car sat between may 1994 and August 1996??!!
So far so good I feel
