Hi All, I have been directed to join JEC as I have been on a few forums looking for information, know how etc.
I have recently acquired a few Jaguar/Daimler cars which are all at different stages, so I'll be asking lots of questions, if that's OK

There are many knowledgable people here who will be happy to answer your questions, also check the search facility as many questions have already been answered.

Thank you, yes I acquired 4 in total

2 standard 5.3 XJS, one deep purple and the other bright yellow
A Cobalt blue 1985 5.3 XJSC
and a Jaguar XJS Lister, black and what I believe to be the only genuine RHD 4.0 litre engine.

I'm based in Worcestershire so a little to far unfortunately. I've already noticed a few meets at Himley and Shugborough Hall.
One of the reasons for joining was within the purchases I acquired a warehouse full of classic Jaguar and Daimler parts from wing mirrors to bonnets. So I may do an auto jumble.

Hello Neddie,

Welcome to the JEC and also to this section of the Bulletin Board. The word "Forum" means something different to the JEC; it's a section of the club that has magazine pages, technical specialists, events and also pages on the website (see "Model Forum" on the menu above. In fact, if you look at the XJS Forum pages, you will see a brief article that I wrote on Lister XJSs a little while ago). What most websites refer to as a Forum is what we call this "Bulletin Board", which is split down into sections that cater for the different models. As Tony has said, there is a Search function which is extremely useful in finding posts on specific topics.

It will help members respond to your posts if you update your profile with your location. It's also really important to the club that you update your membership details with the Jaguars that you own. From the Home page of the website, select "MemberZone" then "My Account" then go to "Update my car details" at the bottom of the page.

Great to hear that you've got the Lister (I responded to your query on another website). Be really good to see some pics. Why not bring the car to Southern Day?

I noticed that you've added one of your cars to your membership details (the Lister). I was wondering if you had any info on the detailed Lister spec of the engine as I noticed it left the factory as a standard 3.6 item of the period before it was converted?

Love the pics, particularly the rear arch and air vent! Remember to can add the pics to the vehicle detail record in your membership. This is also useful when the club is looking for specific cars for articles, photoshoots etc.

yes it was converted to a 4.0l by Lister. I've added a picture of the plate below.
I can if anyone is interested add a copy of the original WP Automotive invoice. It details what was done and how much it cost.

If it's in a condition to drive there I'll bring it along. Which one is the Southern day??

It would be good if Lister can tell you what a 4 litre conversion means in terms of pistons, bores, crank, valves, ignition timing, plugs etc etc. It would be important to know this if you needed any maintenance done on the engine.

Just as a matter of interest, there's a 200 mph 7 Litre Lister Le Mans convertible being auctioned at the Silverstone Classic in 2 weeks; just about my ultimate XJS!
