My name is Jay and my wife Gina and I are new to the Jaguar scene and the JEC. We have a 10 year old boy and reside near Huntingdon.

Our first and current Jaguar is a 1980 XJ-S, British Racing Green with biscut interior. We used the clubs services to have a pre-purchase inspection to assist in our decion to buy.

I am eager to learn about the Jag as I enjoy working on cars. My previous experience is maintaining two corvettes now in storage. I must admit I do like that V12 as compared to my V8s.

We all look forward to meeting the members and participating in club events.

If you would like an excellent introduction to the car, its history and development look no further than
"You and your Jaguar XJS" by our own club magazine editor Nigel Thorley, Haynes Books, Nov. 2000 (I think it has been reprinted since then......). This gives a great overview of the car and what to look out for as an owner. There are quite a few other books available which you can search for but this is a great start.

I hope that you can come to Weston Park in June and look forward to meeting you and your family there.

Your XJ-S wouldn't happen to be a pre-HE V12 sourced from a garage near Peterborough a little while back? If so, congratulations - that is a very nice cat!
