Jaguar Press Cars

Hi from another new member. We have recently purchased a 3.6 auto coupe for the princely sum of £500. When we purchased it the car did not have tax or MOT having been on a sorn for around 6 month’s. The car was presented for a MOT inspection and failed, due to an insecure headlamp, this was duly rectified, passed and then taxed.
It came with a bundle of paperwork from its life, all but four of its MOT certificates, some VED disks and an almost full service history from day one.
This is the interesting bit, the first three service stamps have Jaguar Daimler and no garage mark. The car has Coventry plates and a garage ID on the number plate and tax disk holder.
Could the car have started life as a press car.
The reg number is E419 HKV
