Introductions from a new arrival

Hello, just joined the club and for my sins I'm the proud owner of two XJS!

Long story short I bought one several years ago when there were still cheap ones to be found as a bit of a joke to be honest not realising what I was letting myself in for, but ended up falling in love with the car. I called her Mursen and did a lot of milage in her. Three years ago I tried to get her restored but was told it wasn't worth it (at which point I had my hands tied as I was out of the country for several months) and the best I could do was put her in long term storage untill I could decide what to do. Trouble was I was now suffering from XJS withdrawal symptoms...

This resulted in me buying a 94 facelift manual in racing green that makes me smile everytime I drive it, and spend a lot of my life polishing it.

Oh, and as for Mursen, after three years in storage I decided that if no one else wanted to restore her I'd give it a go myself, and with a little help from my friends I hope to have her back on the road this autumn.

Sian - thanks for introducing yourself and welcome to the XJS Forum.
You can upload pictures using the "attachments" tab at the bottom of the posting screen. I'm afraid that there is a size limit (annoying but necessary due to server storage limitations) for files which means that photos have to be resized to about 1300 X 900. You can then choose to either place them inline in your post or have them appear at the bottom of your post. You can only put 3 photos at the bottom but more in the body of the post.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your cars!
When you come to restoration then please feel free to ask any questions. There are a good numbers of members who have completed or are currently undergoing restorations so there's a good fund of experience here at your disposal!
Best wishes
David Randall

Wow - I too have a facelift 4.0 manual which puts a big grin on my face every time I drive it. If you are brave, you can push it out of tight bends by shifting down a gear and flooring it. You can really feel the rear suspension knuckle down and do what it is designed to - brilliant engineering. It is a little light in the wet however, but I found new Pirelli tyres made a huge difference - more predictable and great fun.

I like to think mine is BRG but the colour code is HFB which is actually brooklands green :(

Hopefully we can compare cars at a meet someday in the future.

Kind Regards
Graeme
