Morning all, after some 12-13 years my Dad's Blue XJSC is going to be back on the road, some of you may remember Archie and his car. It has had a lot of work done on the body, rust removal etc, new panels, paint. It has been taken to Peter Thurston Jaguar in Hillborough, Kent and they have gone through the running gear and engine. 100k + miles and still runs beautifully. Just finishing off some electrical gremlins and then MOT and back in my hands.
By no means a nut and bolt restoration, but a good solid re commission. The interior is still showing some age, but I am leaving that as it is apart from new Veneer. The bumpers are the same, not perfect but still shiny. I want it to reflect its age, while still being something good to look at.
Looking forward to weekends away and getting good use from the car.
A couple of pictures below to show an example of the beginning and near to the end.

Those front wing bottoms are a pain. Fortunately mine only needed the bottom panels, the cills were fine. But, good to see you bringing the car back to life. Will it be ready for the Jaguars at Gaydon event on 4th September? XJ-S's will be lining up on the hill above the main parking area.

Steve,
It's really good to hear that you still have the car and of all the work that you've had done.
I have fond memories of your late Dad and also the car. It will be great to see it again and also to meet you.
Cheers
Paul

Well done bringing the car back. It would make a really good article - how about it?

Re: D14 PAX is back
Hi Steve,
Great to see that another one is being revived, especially as it's got sentimental value - many that needed that level of bodywork have ended up being donor cars and not seeing the road again. Perfect colour, too (same as mine!)
Please do share more pictures of the restoration work if you feel like it - that rear sill end / wheel arch pic took me a while to work out what I was looking at. It was only the radius arm that made me realise I was looking through the side of the car, at the rear of the centre console.
I hope to be at Gaydon on the 4th September as well so it'll be good to see the car in person.
Good luck getting the final bits sorted for MoT.
