Hi everyone,

I am a relatively new member (joined July) after purchasing my first Jaguar (first ever classic car, actually). This is a '93 manual 4.0l facelift XJS coupe in black. It's in relatively good condition, although a few issues have cropped up (already a post in the Electrics sub-forum due to an intermittent starting problem that has recently become less intermittent and more permanent...).

Anyway, hope to get these things sorted gradually, as it's a lovely car (picture attached). No doubt this will involve a fair number of trips to this board as I am pretty novice at all of this.

Hi tommad,
That looks really nice.
Have not seen many in black as nice as that.
Wheels are super clean also :D.
Hope you get the issues sorted out without too much grief.
Take care.

Thanks Paul,

Yes, I think the black is a good colour, but then all XJSs (is that the right plural?) look good to me. I have no doubt it will take time and money to get everything good, but that's what we're here for, right?

Best wishes,

Tom

Tom,

Congrats on the purchase! A lovely rare car, a 4 litre manual! Well done!

Tom - hello and welcome. That looks a lovely car and, as Paul says, relatively rare as a 4ltr manual - more of a driver's car than the auto.
Please come to this forum with as many questions as you like - that's what its for! You will find many helpful members on here happy to pitch in with their knowledge and experience.
maybe you could do an article for the magazine with your experiences as a new convert to the XJS? It doesn't take much - just a few words and some pictures and we do the rest. You can find my contact details in the magazine if you'd like to talk about this.
Best wishes
