Hi all.
I’ve owned my 89 V12 Coupe for the last 5 years and following extensive work on the car lost my dry storage. Fell out of love with it and it’s sat on the drive for the last 12 months.
Got my V12 mojo back when I fired her up and she started instantly. Now back in the body shop to have the rear arches sorted and the remaining bits of bodywork that need attention. Some Jaguar heritage panels were sourced for the front end.
Every bush and seal has been replaced over the last 5 years, water pump, suspension, exhaust system to list but a few.
All rust cut out and fresh metal. Goes into paint booth in 3 weeks.
Just need to get the AC working, source replacement fog/driving lights and replace the walnut trim on the centre consul.
I’m based in St Albans amd would love to attend some meet ups when Covid allows.

Well done for keeping the faith.

Hi richmagnus and welcome. I'm really pleased to hear that you've rediscovered your enthusiasm. Please keep us up to date as the car goes through the body shop and you get her back up to scratch. You'll get our support on here which can really help when you get a bit fed up with it!

Well done - that looks good!

Hi Rich,
That paint looks wonderful.
Exactly what colour is it,it looks like a bronze in the photo's.
Good luck with the rest of it as well.
Stay safe.

Re: New member again
It’s the original colour.
Not sure what it is called but a burgundy red.
I think the fluorescent lighting gives it a bronze tinge.
Collecting the car on Tuesday.
Engine/bay to be cleaned and detailed to a good standard in the next few weeks.
Air conditioning needs overhauling as never worked in the 5 years I’ve owned the car. Passenger window regularly sticks in the down position so this needs to be looked at and a full service/MOT ASAP.
Can’t wait to get out on the road. A lot of £ spent over the last five years as a rolling project but hopefully nearly there.

Re: New member again
Failed its MOT due to the anti lock brake light showing yellow. It’s never done this before since the restoration.
Any thoughts much appreciated.

Re: New member again
richmagnus,
The Teves abs system is becoming more problematic with age, one particular component being the abs valve block.
However, the first thing I would do is run through the blink test routine which verifies the integrity of the electrical abs components. There's a good chance that it could be the continuity on one of the sensors or other components.
If the blink test runs completely successfully, post back and we'll think again.
Cheers
Paul
