Hi, I have a 3.0l diesel 2016 with 80,000 miles and following first time drive when overtaking or demanding a heavy power delivery the engine goes like a rocket then soon afer the performance dies and the malfunction light comes on and a message "restricted performance". the fault code logged are P00BF-OO mass air flow range too high (intermittent). POO235-94 Turbo boost sensor A circuit (Intermittent).POO4B-77 turbo boost control solenoid B range /performance (Historic) P259B-71 Turbo boost control position sensor B performance -stuck high.
I have checked the tech service bulletins and see an old one relating to a cracked valve cover . Am I correct in thinking that these fault codes could relate to a cracked valve cover ?. Following engine shut down the car starts, drives and performs great with no warning lights untill you give it a good hard go on the throttle.
Kind Regards Jeremy.

Re: 3.0 diesel restricted performance
The P259B-71 code suggests that the ECU isn't receiving confirmation that something has moved as expected and hence it shuts down the engine to save it from damage. That makes it unlikely to be a cracked valve cover. I'd suggest dropping an email to Tom Robinson at Swallow's with all your information. Swallow's regularly deal with this type of issue and should be able to help with advice. Mike.
