suspension/subframe
Moderator:ct575
Hello i am new to this forum i wonder if anyone has noticed on the service sheet for the X351 it states to inspect the front subframe at the time of service it seems to me this only applies to the XJR model i do not have access to topix on line manual it states workshop manual section 502-00 i wonder why this would be only for the XJR is there a concern that the subframe could crack due to the engine power as if it was a rust issue surely all models would be effected look forward if someone could enlighten me. I have owned each XJR model and last year purchased 2016 XJR which is the best of the bunch.

Re: suspension/subframe
In Topix, there is an inspection procedure (502 - 00) listed simply under the X351 range. It involves checking the welding around the rear towers of the front subframe for damage or fatigue. Like all workshop procedures, the wording doesn't give any clues why the inspection might be necessary. Current maintenance inspection schedules on Topix can only be viewed after entering VIN numbers so it isn't easy to check on which specific models of X351 the inspection procedure applies to. Mike.
