is it possible to improve the headlights lighting. very poor if wishing to utilise more enthusiastic motoring.
Re: lights.
Firstly, you need to identify if the car has halogen or HID lamps. HID equipped cars will have headlight washer jets as a legal requirement mounted on the front bumper covers. You might also find DS1 or similar markings moulded into the headlight lenses. If that is the case, then you can find Osram Nightbreaker HID, Phillips and a number of other manufacturers producing anything up to 130% brighter lamps. These are road legal at the usual 55w rating. Expect to pay at least £80 for a set of these uprated lamps which are also commonly known as "burners".
It is also possible to uprate halogen equipped vehicles.
Note it is not possible to uprate halogen cars with HID lamps unless replacing a number of additional components.
I have a set of uprated Osram HID lamps in my 04 XJR. The conversion is highly effective and greatly improves night time visability.
Come back to us for further advice but in the meantime investigate which type of lamps are fitted to your particular car.
