The XJ experience

Finishing work after midnight,
Ever chasing the dying of the light,
Tense and tired from sleep in the lack,
And on top of that an aching back.

Now the time is to depart,
The eye falls upon a work of art,
The lines, the sweep, the stance,
Joins the eye in inspiring dance.

And now to sit inside,
Sumptuous leather and wood to ride,
As power upon power roars to life,
That moment settles, settling strife.

The stereo on in audiophile range,
The bass, the treble, the midrange phase,
Fills the already atmosphere full,
To the midnight morning the horses pull.

Now as if on glass,
Cosseted by the luxury class,
The pièce de résistance, as if more were required,
The massaging seat to take away the tired.

So slipping down the motorway smooth,
In rich sound and massaging groove,
The gentleman's club in present tense,
This is the XJ experience.
