Advice needed

My F-Type will require a service in December and I need some advice. The car has only now done 20,000 miles since new (2015). The service schedule indicates to replace the accessory belt every nine years (144 miles) and the supercharger belt every six years (96,000 miles). I have yet to find out whether this was undertaken in 2021. If not then, should I be considering this for its next service. Although the car hasn’t got anywhere near the suggested mileage for the year, will the lack of use and time cause the deterioration of the belt?

Belt changes are precautionary activities to avoid the inconvenience and possible extra damage caused by on the road failures but there is nothing to stop an owner extending the time between changes by regularly checking belt condition. Most modern belts start to show signs of cracking ahead of eventual failure. Hence, if the belts look good with no cracks when twisted, it would be possible to run them longer. Just don't forget to check them regularly. Mike.

I tend towards caution and would check the belts thoroughly but would probably get them changed as the cost of doing this now is much less than a major engine repair and will protect you for the foreseeable future - but thats me - as i say i tend towards caution.
If you are unsure take the car to a reputable indepednent such as Swallows near Bristol, and get them to give you their thoughts.

I will take it to my local service centre - E P Heritage and get them to check them both.
