New F-TYPE Model Section Coordinator

Postby drjohnehunt100 » Fri May 06, 2022 9:34 am

Hi Everyone,

I am the new F-TYPE coordinator, taking over form the excellent Val.

My first column will be the June edition of the magazine and I look forward to hearing from people over the coming years.

I have a red F-Type 380 R Dynamic Couple which I use as my daily driver.

Since the 2nd or 3rd lockdown I have become a 'car portrait artist' and do paintings of (mostly Jaguar) cars. Here is one I did of an E-Type earlier this year. Hopefully one of an F-Type I did last year will be in the magazine.

Hi John,

Congratulations on adopting the F-Type mantle. It hardly seems possible that we will soon be celebrating the model's first decade. Surely, that will be cause for a special F-Type gathering next year? Before we know it, the model will be listed as a classic Jaguar! :D Mike.

Thanks for the welcome - I am sure we will meet up at some point. Not least as the modern XKs are also some of my favourites and it was a hard decision when I was looking to get a modern Jag Coupe - more recent F-Type or one of the last XKs - nice challenge to have and decided eventually to get the F-TYPE.

2023 and a decade of the F-TYPE is something I have in my sights and am thinking about what we might do - if you are anyone has any suggestions please feel free to put them forward - the more ideas the better! Of course today's modern cars will become tomorrows classics - particularly as things will be electric rather than petrol in the future!

Hi John - it only seems like yesterday but it was actually 10 years ago that I first spotted a F Type prototype on the road. Boy did it look good!
Congratulations on taking on the Coordinator role - I'm sure you'll do a great job! After all it can't be that hard - even I can do it!! :D
Best wishes

I remembering being wowed when it first came out as well - but then I was also wow'd with the XJS back in the 70s - so may be I am easily influenced by Jaguar :-)

I'll add my welcome too. Well done for taking the plunge. I only know of one F-type in our corner of Wales, a red coupe that does look terrific among all the mundane look-alike everyday cars.
I shall enjoy reading your news.

Hi Dave,

I used to live in Aberystwyth and didn't see many Jags around there, apart form one Professor who had an XJS. But of course it makes our cars look all the more special.

Oh and I used to have a 2.5 AWD X-Type estate in pale metallic blue :-)

Hi John,

sorry for the belated welcome, I've only just joined. Well, re-joined actually, was a member for years and years until I let it laps during a period without a Jag, but now the proud owner of an F-type and thoroughly enjoying it. Anyways, it seems a little quiet in this particular corner of the interweb but I'll drop by from time to time to see what's going on.

Cheers
Ken

Hi Ken,

Glad to have you back. I am the same actually I last had a Jag in the noughties - now back with a Jag and so joined again.

I think many F-Type owners (myself included) do seem to interact on Facebook - but hopefully the forum provides the opportunity for another avenue of discussion.

Thanks,
John
