Servicing at a main dealer

I wonder if Maserati owners have the same problems?
Just me; I equate Jaguars to Maseratis; not BMW, Porsche, Mercedes or Aston Martin.

Travelling to get the service you need might be the only option.

When living in Portsmouth, most of my servicing needs were done at a local Jaguar Independent operation. That worked well enough except when I wanted uprates, modifications or unusual ideas actioned. In such cases I had to travel to Slough or Reading to achieve that. May be you need to look outside the immediate area?

I think you are right, Mike K, but even that's problematic now.

My immediate problem is solved, however. Thanks to the tip from 3.8etype Phil, we're now booked in for a Jaguar 3+ major service at the 'other' local main dealer at £385. Still extortionate for an oil and filter change plus looking at the underneath, but better than the previous quote (that included work that didn't need doing).

Further info, I had our Mini CooperD cam belt changed at 105,000 mls at Lucas Auto Centre High Wycombe just before I gave it to my son and got a new one last year , Mini Clubman Estate D. They are an Independent Car Repair Garage. The cost £509.74 inc VAT and included Aux Drive Belt, Idler etc. Brilliant job.They quoted £585.00 inc VAT for the XF. They were doing a Jag XF whilst our Mini was there. I went with Lookers for the convenience of having the service done at the same time and the warranty.
