This refers to a 2019 Jaguar XF X260 Sportbrake 3.0T.
When I bought the car (pre-owned) it came with two keys. Key One I have used constantly and has been ok. Tho other day I thought I would try the other Key Two but got no response from the car, no unlocking, no tailgate opening, no start and no messages. I assumed the key battery was dead so fitted new CR2032 batteries in both keys. My usual Key One still works fine but the Key Two still won't unlock the car or open the tailgate. Now when I try to use it to start the car I get a message saying Smart Key Not Recognised hold it it against the steering column as shown and press start. There are 3 vertical strakes on the side of the steering column indicating where to hold it but I have tried this multiple times with and without the brake pedal pressed and continue to get the same message.
Any ideas on how to fix this before I go to the dealer. I have an iCarsoft LR V3.0 diagnostic tool if that can help.

Re: Smart Key not Recognised
Although it might sound obvious, 9 out of 10 faults like this are due to bent or poor contacts in the key fob. It might be worth cleaning and bending the fob contacts before assuming the fob is faulty. Mike.
