Filling up is a pain

Basically, when i try to put diesel in it just clucks and clicks off, so it either takes ages with endless clucking off at the pump nozzle or i have to go very slow. Is this common or do i need to do something? It is a diesel.....

It most probably is NOT the car, but the pump. Did you report the issue to the fuel station attendant? The "choke" on the pump will need adjusting and resetting by the maintenance team. Did you try other pumps at different fuel stations?

On a diesel there is a mis-fuelling prevention device which puts a yellow flap across the filler neck. It is supposed to activate when the wrong sized (petrol) nozzle is inserted, but can activate itself under other circumstances. It produces symptoms very similar to those you describe.

Have a look into the filler neck and see if you can see a yellow flap partly blocking the passage. The tool for resetting it should be on the battery clamp. Instructions for using it are in the handbook.
