Low Brake Pad Warning
Moderator:cawthrm
I have just had the Low Brake Pad warning light appear. Obviously a job that needs to be done but is it a ‘as soon as possible’ or can it wait a week or two? How much Pad is left when the sensor first triggers the warning?

Re: Low Brake Pad Warning
The warning lamps are typically quite conservative to give you time to book a car in for rectification. The Mot limit is 1.5mm pad thickness so it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect the lamp to give a similar warning. Mike.

Re: Low Brake Pad Warning
New pads have 10mm material thickness, the alarm on my Rears annunciated at 4mm, a generous margin.

Hi,
Thanks for the informative replies. Front pads and sensor have been replaced. All routine - no issues.

Hi Ray,
Around 3mm. So there is a reasonable margin to get the pads replaced before any damage occurs.
