Fobs and Ignition

Postby rosemary » Thu Dec 08, 2022 8:09 pm

Hello Folks
My XF has now got the Gollywombles ref Fobs and Starting the car. The fob unlocks the car and I press the the start button and I get "Fob not found" comes up on the annunciator, "put fob in slot". I've changed the batteries twice in both my Fobs, work's ok for two or three times then I get the same messages. The outside temperature is -2 deg, does this mean the car is upset and doesn't want to go anywhere in the temperature now. What is going on, a temperamental car, or should I scrap it, the way of most Jaguars, and buy something else. Getting used to this now , bring on the Mercedes/BMW, although I saw one of them (BMW)the other day with a nearside front wheel collapsed in the side of the road.

I assume it’s the same with both fobs? They are quite sensitive to low voltage, ensure you use branded batteries and not cheap ones, had a similar issue with my previous XJR and when put in Duracell batteries it was fine.
