Replace battery 2009 XF 3.0 diesel

I need to put a new battery on my car can I just swap it over to a new one or will it loose any radio codes or any other things to be aware of When replacing

You will lose your radio code. Unless you maintain volts to your car by using jump leads to maintain connection to your new battey while physically removing the old.
If your car has a "Bluemotion" function -- the car's engine stops running at traffic lights and re-starts when you press your accelerator -- then you can only use aftermarket batterys that support (by an integrated circuit on them) that funcion.
